BROWN AND COOMBE TO
LEAVE TO-DAY

AUCKLAND. April 28,
Although New Zealand has not entered a team for the Davis Cup, the Dominion will be represented at Wimbledon by A. D. Brown and D. C. Coombe, who will make the trip in a private capacity. They have secured the nomination of the National Association for the Wimbledon tourney. Brown will leave Auckland to-night to join Coombe in Wellington, from where they sail to-morrow by the Port Chalmers for Britain. It is their intention to play in the Beckenham and Queen’s Club tournaments before competing in British events. After Wimbledon the New Zealanders will make a round ot United Kingdom tournaments before leaving in September for home.

BRITISH HARD-COURT TITLES
(UKITKD PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPTETGHT.) (Received April 28, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. April 27. In the third round of the men’s singles in the British hard-court tennis championships at Bournemouth, Kho Sin Kie (China) beat C. E. Malfroy (New Zealand), 6-3, 6-0, 6-2. In the third round of the mixed doubles, Malfroy and Miss Betty Nuthall beat Hovell and Miss Southwell, 6-0. 6-2.
