MR R. B. BENNETT TO RESIGN
LEADER OF OPPOSITION IN CANADA (Received March 6, 11.45 p.m.) OTTAWA, March 5. Mr R. B. Bennett, Leader of the Opposition, will ask the National Conference of Conservatives to select a leader, as the heart ailment, which he has been enduring for the last three years, has become worse and compels him to retire. He will remain in office until the National Convention in June. He will retain his seat in the House of Commons.
