MR SAVAGE PRAISED IN LONDON
THE “DAILY HERALD” ON SPENDING POLICY

LONDON, February 28.
The “Daily Herald” says in a leading article: “New Zealand has a Government which knows how to get busy. Mr Savage has defended social services against people who think them too expensive, and has had the courage to say that he will expand them even if the country is faced with a slump. “That is a sensible thing to say. It is just when private enterprise is beginning to economise that a government needs to be bold enough to spend more than ever.”
