PROTEST AT SHIPPING DELAYS
• * HARBOUR. BOARD APPEALS TO MR SAVAGE (PSBAS ASSOCIATION TBl-BGRAU.) GISBORNE, February 28. A protest against the repeated snipping hold-ups was expressed at today’s meeting of the Gisborne Harbour Board, which decided to appeal to the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J, Savage) to take appropriate action to deal with the problem. It was stated that in the last six months several delays had occurred at Gisborne, trade in the port had been dislocated, and legitimate coastal freights had been driven into the hands of road operators.
