REFORMING BRIDLE PATH

MINISTER’S HELP SOUGHT

A decision to approach the Minister for Public Works (the Hon. R. Semple) for assistance in reforming the Lyttelton side of the Bridle path was made at the meeting of the Lyttelton Borough Council last night. Cr. J. D. Sargentina said the Minister for Public Works had recently asked local bodies what they could do in providing work for unemployed. The council should take advantage of the Minister’s offer, and have the Bridle path put in permanent good order. Now that the fine Summit - oad had been opened, the Bridle path would provide another access to Lyttelton. He moved that the Minister he approached in the matter. Cr. G. S. Morris, who seconded the motion, said the Heathcote side of the road had been put in good order by the Public Works Department. It was a historic road, and should be restored. Cr. W. T. Foster supported the motion,’ and suggested also that trees should be planted along the roadside, : {Che motiQja .was carried.
