' John Alfred Moon, aged 19, of Burnley terrace, Auckland, was drowned in a creek at Oakleigh yesterday. Moon, with two others, went swimming. Moon was diving, and he was seen swimming naturally. Then it was noticed that his head was under water and he disappeared. It is thought that he struck a snag on the bottom of the river. , . . REEFTON. February 28. John Ross Blackadder. second son of Mr and Mrs William Blackadder, of Maruia, aged 20 years, was accidentally killed on Sunday while out cattle mustering. He left home early on Sunday morning, in company with three companions to search for cattle in the Alfred River district, and when he did not return a search was begun. Blackadder was found early on Sunday afternoon lying in an open space of ground with a dislocated neck. The body was taken to Reefton last night, and an Inquest will probably be held at Reefton to-morrow.

ELDERLY MAN FOUND INJURED

After being missing People s Palace frdm early yesterday morning, Robert Dawkins, aged 77, was later found in a section at Opawa ; with slight injuries. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital for observation.

TWO MOTOR-CYCLISTS

INJURED COLLISION WITH A HORSE Two motor-cyclists who were travelling from Amberley at 5.15 o’clock yesterday morning, received head injuries and cuts- when their machine came into collision with a horse. The men, who were taken to the Christchurch Hospital, Were Robert Walker, of 273 Kilmore street, and Walter Kennedy, of 40 Stafford street, Riccarton. Both were reported last night to be in a satisfactory condition.
