REPLACEMENT OF PAGO PAGO J*-&Y NEW ISLAND BASE

HONOLULU, Febr. ary 27.
It is understood that Rose Island, 150 miles from Pago Pago, will replace the latter as a central station when Pan American Airways resumes the New Zealand clipper service. Uncertainty of wind because of high mountains at Pago Pago has dictated the change.
