Saying that the prisoner had proceeded in the crime of breaking and entering a dwelling with cool deliberation and had committed a similar crime after escaping from custody, his Honour Mr Justice Kennedy sentenced William Henry Charles McKay to two years' imprisonment with hard labour, together with three months' imprisonment for his escape. Sydney Joseph Samways and Ralph Thomas Webb appeared for sentences on joint and separate cases of breaking and entering shops, and theft Samways was sentenced to reformative detention for one year and nine months, and Webb to the Borstal Institution for a period not exceeding two years.
