SITTING OF AUTHORITY APPLICATIONS HEARD AT GREYMOUTH Mr T. H. Langford presided at a sitting of the No. 3 Transport Licensing Authority at Greymouth on Wednesday, The following applications were dealt with: — McGlashans’ Motors, passenger service licences in respect of contract services from the Greymouth Borough and County area—Granted, A, R, Wallis, Ltd., .goods service licence for cartage of the company’s own goods only from Wataroa to Ross, Waipuna to Ikamatua, and Waipuna to Reefton.—Granted. Hempseed Bros., Waiuta, applied for new goods service licence to the Alexander mine—A licence was granted, conditional to a load not in excess of 30cwt. W. Vallance (Mr A. H. Paterson), new continuous general goods service licence from Rotomanu railway station to Poerua, Inchbonnie, and the surrounding district. Also cartage of bobby calves, cows, and pigs. —Granted for general goods limited to 30cwt. Also granted to cart bobby calves and pigs. Fahey’s Transport, Ltd., Nelson (Mr P, S. Boyes), made application to extend their licence to enable them the cartage of goods direct to and from Greymouth. The application was obpected to by the Greymouth Town Carriers’ Association, and the Railway Department (Mr W. Rodgers).—Refused. Maloney Bros, applied for amendment to general goods service licence to cart general goods, coal, gravel, and machinery within five miles of Blackball.—Ad j ourned. B. W. Huflan (Mr A. H. Paterson), amendment of licence to read; “Area of 30 miles radius from sawmill, Otututu, with timber and machinery outwards and general goods and machinery inwards, breakdown machinery to Greymouth and return.” —Granted, to cover a 20 mile radius. J. R. Williams, Blackball (Mr A. M. Jamieson) applied for licence to be extended to enable applicant to carry timber between the Atarau Sawmilling Company and the Moonlight Sawmilling Company, anywhere in Grey County,—Refused. ,
