CHAMPIONSHIPS OF WEST COAST PRESENTATION OF PRIZES For the competitors in the annual championship and handicap tournament of the West Coast Croquet Association, which concluded at Greymouth on Monday, the president (Mrs J. J. Wilson, of Runanga), in presenting the i prizes, paid a tribute to the untiring efforts of the honorary secretary (Mrs Alan Smith) to make the tournament a great success. The organisation had been splendid throughout the seven days, she said. Mrs Wilson presented Mrs Smith with a set of crystal goblets.. Replying, Mrs Smith congratulated the greenkeeper (Mr H. Malham) on successfully maintaining the greens in order for the 107 games played, and also thanked the Greymouth Bowling Club for the use of its new green. At the anuual meeting of the association the following officers were elected;— President, Mrs J. J. Wilson (Runanga); vice-presidents, Mesdames A. CeresSto (Reefton), Johnston (Hokitika), McKay (Greymouth); honorary secretary, Mrs A. Smith (Greymouth); official referee, Mrs Gilbert (Westport); handicapper, Mrs Mercer (Greymouth); committee, Mesdames E. Warnes, L. Mercer, and A. Smith.

SOUTH CANTERBURY TOURNAMENT Good progress was made with the South Canterbury Croquet Association’s tournament, which was continued yesterday in ideal conditions. LINWOOD DEFEATS SOUTHBRIDGE A junior A flag croquet match between Southbridge and Linwood was played at Linwood, resulting in a win for the home team by liv,e games to one, with three unfinished. Results (Linwood names fifst); — Doubles —Mesdames Lutton and Jones 26, Mesdames Bennett and Williamson 17; Mrs Rowe and Miss Wilson 26, Mesdames Eggleton and Moorhead 20; Mesdames Marshall and Sneddon 26. Mesdames Inwood and Doyle 25. Singles—Mrs Lutton 26, Mrs Bennett 12; Mrs Jones 23, Mrs Williamson 26; Mrs Rowe 26, Mrs Eggleton 5; Miss Wilson 18, Mrs Moorhead 8 (unfinished). The other two games were not played.'
