NORTH LINWOOD BURGESSES
ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the North Linwood Burgesses' Association was held in the North Linwood School. Mr T. H. Butterfield presided over an attendance of 50 members. The balance-sheet of the general fund showed a credit of £9 19s 6d, the social fund a credit of Is 7d. and "the cricket club a credit of £1 9s 9d. The chairman gave a review of the work done by the association during the year. Mention was also made of the proDOsed new park, which is to be in the North Linwood district. The election of officers resulted:— President. Mr L. J. Wise; vice-presi-dents, Messrs T. H. Butterfield, R. Hawkings, F. Lightfoot, W. S. Grigg. and W. McKay; secretary and treasurer. Mr F. Cairney; auditor, Mr H. Harrow; committee (general), Messrs P Austin, V. Claridge. C. Barrett. E. Horton, and E. Prisk; trustees, Messrs T. H. Butterfield, W. McKay, and F. Cairney: social committee, Messrs F. Booth, E. Prisk. R. Wright, P. Austin, and F. Lightfoot. The meeting decided that as a recognition of Mr T. H. Butterfield's five years as president, and the work he had done for the association, he be elected a life member. It was also decided that a letter of congratulation be sent to Mr E. Parlane (foundation member of the Addington Burgesses' Association) on his appointment as chairman of the Christchurch Tramway Board. .
