When fishing off Whangaroa recently Mr W. I. Bowyer, of Otorohanga, caught the first swordfish to be taken from those waters this season. Mr Bowyer is a well-known sportsn.an, and his feat in capturing the first swordfish of the season from Whangaroa will be recognised by the presentation of a model siver replica cf the fish.
