CYCLING MEETING AT ENGLISH PARK
RACES HELD LAST EVENING
The series of evening meetings held at English Park by the Canterbury Amateur Cycling Centre was continued last evening. The miss-and-out scratch race, in which 16 riders participated, proved very interesting. The junior points competition for the trophy given by Mr T. A. Grose, jun., and competed for during December, resulted in J. G. Crofts, H. R Donovan, and T. Lindlcy each gaining 10 points for first place. The following are the results:— Three-quarter Mile Open HandicapFirst heat: T. Lindley (35ydsI 1, A. J. Tomson (50vds) 2. K. Johnston (70yds) 3. Time, lmin 35 1-Dsec. Second heat: K. Robinson <4syd's) 1, G. L. Thomson (scr) 2, S. I. Griinwood (60yds) 3. Time, lmin 36 2-ssec. Final: T. Lindley 1, A. J. Tomson 2. G. L. Thomson 3. Time, lmin 43sec. Won by half a length. Mlss-and-Out, 32 Miles—G. L. Thomson 1, K. Robinson 2, S. Grimwood 3. Time, 9min 3 1-osec. Italian Pursuit Race, one mile—R. M. Kidd, T. Lindley, K. Robinson, and b. Grimwood beat G. L. Thomson, K. Johnston, J. G. Crofts, and A. J. Tomson. Time, 2min 7 3-ssec.
