IMPROVEMENTS AT HANMER
* WATER SUPPLY AND TARSEALING OF STREETS Improvements to the Hanmer water supply system by the Public Works Department are well forward. Hanmer is also likely to be provided with tar-sealed streets within a short time, as specifications for this work, for which a sum was placed on the Estimates, have been submitted by the Amuri County Council for approval. The new intake for the water supply and the hydro-electric works has been completed. Filter tanks are being built on Conical Hill, and when these are completed the town should be provided with a good water supply at all times. At present, whenever there is a fresh in the Rogerson river, the water supply becomes full of particles. Extensions of water mains to the sub-division up Jack's road are in hand.
