CHEMISTS CONFER

♦ NEW ZEALAND DELEGATES MEET Delegates from principal centres arc attending the joint annual conferences of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry and the New Zealand Section of the Institute of Chemistry of Great Britain and Ireland, which opened in the city yesterday and will conclude to-day. Presiding over the New Zealand Institute's conference is Mr G. A. Lawrence, of Wellington, and over the second conference Mr F. H. V. Fielder. Presidential addresses were given yesterday and at the New Zealand Institute's meeting the status of chemists was discussed. To-day delegates will inspect the laboratories of the Wheat Research Institute, and will visit the Davis Gelatine and Christchurch Gas Companies' works. The annual dinner will be held this evening.
