GIFT PARTY
A pleasant evening party, at which games, competitions, and musical items were enjoyed, was held at the home of Miss Beryl Emmett, North parade, Shirley, in honour of the approaching marriage of Miss Freda Judkins to Mr Leslie Strong. Prizes were won by Miss I. Pawson and Mr F. Judkins. and sonfrs and duets were sung by Miss F. Judkins, Mr L. Strong, and Mr D. Stanley. The guest of honour received many useful pantry gifts.
Those present were Mr and Mrs F Judkins, Mr and Mrs D. Stanley Mrs Lowden, Mrs E. Stanley, Mrs A W Emmett, Misses B. Frizzell, J. Frizzell, I. Pawson, E. Masters, L. Brazier F. Judkins, E. Judkins, M. Larkum R J E, £ m^ tt - R - Emmett, B. Anderson, and D. Cooper, Messrs J. Strong R G. Arnould, L. S. Emmett, and ' l! Strong.
In England old telephone kiosks have been used as shelters for attendants at petrol-filling stations.
