CANADIANS MAY COMPETE AT AUCKLAND TWO RECORDS GRANTED BY N.Z. ASSOCIATION (press association telegram.) WELLINGTON, January 18. A shoct message from the Canadian athletes .competing in the Empire Games states that they are willing to compete at Auckland on the evening of February 21, according to advice received at a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association to-night. Whether some members of the team will be able to come to New Zealand will be decided while the team is in Australia. Mr J. G. Leckie (Auckland) was appointed captain of the New Zealand team. Recognition of the javelin record of Miss Mitchell (Auckland) was granted, and also the application of Geddes (Otago) for the 10 miles record. Applications by Sharpley. Matthews, Miss Lumley, and Miss Forbes were held over for more information.
