SUMMER SHOW AT AKAROA

FINE DISPLAY OF BLOOMS LARGE ENTRIES IN ALL SECTIONS The annual summer show organised by the Akaroa Horticultural Society was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, when there was a good display of flowers, and a large attendance. Mr R. Nairn (Christchurch) was judge of the flowers, decorative, fruit, and vegetable sections, and Mr F. R. E. Davis judged the cookery and domestic produce sections. Mr Nairn said that the standard of exhibits displayed was high, but he would like to see a larger number of entries in some of the classes. Plants grew so easily at Akaroa, that it was a pity that more people did not exhibit flowers, etc., in the show.
