ALIEN MIGRATION IN AUSTRALIA
♦ OUTCRY AGAINST INFLUX OF ITALIANS MINISTER UNDERTAKES TO MAKE SURVEY (Received December 6, 11 p.m ; ) CANBERRA, December 6. As a result of, many protests against the influx of Italians, an early survey of the alien migration position is to be made by the new Minister for the Interior (Mr John *McEwen),. who expressed the opinion that there was really no need for the outcry. He states that of 5129 foreign migrants who entered Australia this year, 1882 were Italians.
