INJURED
WEEK-END MISHAPS
Several persons were injured in minor accidents in and near the city during the week-end, and had to receive treatment at the Christchurch Public Hospital.
A young girl, Lois Shivers., of 101 Roker street, Spreydon, was shot in a leg while out with her father shooting rabbits. She apparently ran in front of a car just as a shot was fired. She was admitted to the hospital, where her condition last evening was reported to be satisfactory. Injuries to the face were suffered by an elderly woman, Mrs L. Wilkins, whose address was given as 76 Chester street, when she was knocked down by a passing motor-car in Moorhouse avenue, opposite the Tramway sheds, at 7 o'clock on Saturday evening. She was admitted to hospital. Her condition is satisfactory. A motor-cyclist, R. Morrison, of 174 St. Asaph street, suffered a fractured leg when he rode over a dog in Colombo street on Saturday morning. He was taken to the hospital, his condition being reported as satisfactory.
CYCLIST SERIOUSLY
INJURED
STRUCK BY MOTOR-CAR IN
LINCOLN ROAD
Serious injuries were suffered by Thomas Arthur Everett, aged 69, of 359 St. Asaph street, yesterday at noon, when a motor-car travelling along Lincoln road struck the bicycle he was riding. Everett fell heavily. He was taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital by ambulance and was admitted suffering from concussion, head injuries, and a fractured left arm. His condition late last evening was reported to be serious,

NELSON. November 13
While cycling along the main road to Richmond last night, a young man, Garth Owen, was knocked down by a motor-car and thrown over the bonnet, his head going through the windshield. The motorist continued on his way, the cyclist being left lying on the road. He was picked up in a dazed condition by a following motorist and brought to the public hospital.
As a result of police inquiries a ycung man. John Charles Shannon, npDearod in the Magistrate's Court this morning on a charge of negligent driving, causing bodily injury. The hearing of the case was adjourned.
YOUNG GIRL DROWNED
IN RIVER
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELSGHAM.i PALMERSTON NORTH. Nov. 14. A 10-years-old girl was drowned in the Pohangina river this afternoon. The victim was Joan Mary Tunnicliffe, daughter of Mr and Mrs E. B. Tunnicliffe, of Ashhurst. The cirl and some companions went swimming in the river near the railway bridge and the girl got out of her depth.
