DOMINATION OF AUSTRIA
GERMAN CAMPAIGN ALLEGED
ANXIETY EXPRESSED AT NEW DEVELOPMENT
(Received November 14, 5.5 p.m..)
LONDON, November 12,
In a special message to the North American Newspaper Alliance, Sir Arthur Willert, the former ' press officer at the Foreign Office, says: "Anxiety is felt at indications that Germany is about to start her longexpected diplomatic offensive for the domination of Central and South-eastern Europe, beginning against Austria.
"A grave view' is taken of an inspired statement from Berlin, scolding Austria for her unfriendliness to Germany. It is not regarded as the precursor of violent action against Austria, but as the first step in a careful campaign for the subordination of Vienna to Berlin. "It is believed that the next step will be an effort to make Dr. Schusehnigg include the Austrian Nazis in the Cabinet. After that there will be an intensified Nazi agitation leading to a political crisis resulting in the elimination of Dr. Schuschnigg and the formation of a Nazi Government at the beck and call of Berlin."
