PERSONAL Sergeant J. H. McHolm and Miss Loma McHolm, Lower Hutt, are guests of Mr and Mrs J. D, Bundy, Brittan terrace. Golf Playing in the final for the J. H. Collins Memorial Cup, at Diamond Harbour during the week-end, D. Gower and Miss A. McAuliffe beat G. Copper and Mrs D, Gower. War Films Shown “The Defence of Madrid,” a film showing scenes of the Spanish civil war, was screened at the former Returned Soldiers’ Association rooms on Sunday, and an appeal for monetary aid was made to the residents of Lyttelton. The speakers were Dr. O. Frankel, Mr H. Winston Rhodes, and Miss McLachlan, and there was a very large attendance of the public. It was mentioned during the appeal that in addition to the two nurses who left New Zealand a few months ago to undertake nursing in Spain, another nurse. Miss D. Morris, daughter of Mr and Mrs G. S. Morris, West Lyttelton, had left England and was engaged in ambulance work in Spain. ' YOUNG WOMEN’S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION.
