The weather forecast for Canterbury and Marlborough, Issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows; South-westerly winds soon prevailing and later becoming strong in exposed positions; weather cloudy to overcast, and some rain probable, but mainly light to moderate; temperatures becoming cooler. Seas rough north of Kalkoura, and elsewhere moderate hot rising. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate to strong southerly winds; weather cool and changeable, with scattered rain, but improving; seas moderate to rather rough, DOMINION The forecast for the Dominion Is:— Cloudy to overcast, and with rain at tunes in most places with a . westerly aspect and the southern portion of the -South Island, and extending later to eastern districts «so; temperatures becoming cooler.
