While- two members of the Black Watch Regiment were sightseeing between" the Jaffa gate and the Scottish War Memorial Hospice of St. Andrew, two Arabs with revolvers crept up from the rear and shot them dead .at close range. Later, one Arab was shot dead and another was seriously injured for resisting and stoning members of the Black Watch Regiment searching for the murderers.
A large detachment ' surrounded the village of Silwan. There were three arrests.
Dogs are carrying the trail further north.
