FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE
FOUR HUNDRED HEAD OF CATTLE DESTROYED (Received November 5, 7 p.m.) LONDON, November 4. After the discovery of a case of foot-and-mouth diseases at the Stowmarket sales, 400 cattle and 2000 pigs from all parts of Norfolk and Suffolk are being destroyed. GERMAN OUTBREAK DRASTIC STEPS ADOPTED BERLIN, November 4. An epidemic of foot-and-mouth disease in western Germany has affected milk and butter production. The most drastic measures are being adopted to prevent it spreading. In some places even the schools are closed.
