SCHOOL LIBRARY SCHEME
ACTIVITY OF HEADMASTERS' ASSOCIATION
The North Canterbury Headmasters' Association is engaged in drawing up a library scheme to cover all schools in the city and suburbs, according to the report presented at the annual meeting of the association, over which Mr F. W. Moore presided. Other matters which had been dealt with by the association during the year were the syllabus and the method of substitution in Form II of an internal examination on an undefined syllabus for an external examination on a rigid syllabus. Another matter dealt with was competitive essays. Reference was made to the loss suffered by the deaths of Messrs J. F. Wilson (Somerfield), J. E. Thwaites (St I Albans), and W. A. Rumbold (Syden- | ham), and by the retirement of Mr M. G. Irwin (Shirley). The following officers were elected: President, Mr C. G. M. Boyce; vicepresident, Mr W. O'Connor; executive, Messrs F. W. Moore, J. Lenihan, and W. Rodger; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr W. G. Napier.
