UNEMPLOYMENT IN GERMANY
ELIMINATION CLAIMED BY MINISTER (Received September 13, 7.5 p.m.) NUREMBERG, September 12. The Reich Minister for Finance (Herr Fritz Reinhardt) declared that unemployment had been eliminated and social, economic, and financial distress overcome. Altogether £3.000,000 was spent in new industrial plant in the last four yeai-s, while production rose to £5.200,000,000 from £3,072,000,000. The national income was £4.960,000,000, compared with £3,600,000,000. Average wages had increased by 5 per cent, through the lengthening of hours from 6.91 to 7.59 a day. HITLER AND THE "RED TERROR" NEW FLAGS PRESENTED TO STORM TROOPERS NUREMBERG, September 12. Herr Hitler, addressing JOO.OOO Storm Troopers when presenting new flags, again referred to the "Red Terror." He said: "You must defend these flags just as fanatically as you did of old. That is more necessary to-day than ever, now that we see ourselves surrounded by an enemy which is bringing nations into confusion. We know that under our flag, the symbol of victory, Germany will be victorious for all time to come."
