Mr H. M. Stevens, president of the ! Home and School Association of the Sumner District High School, presiceo at a meeting of the A report was received stating that tn° committees of the four queens of the queen carnival were regularly organising functions, and that* the funds j were mounting up satisfactorily. It I was decided that the final function should take the form of a community sing in the Sumner Town Hall. It was decided to erect two lights in the grounds of the secondary department. A bazaar was held in the Sumner Town Hall on Saturday afternoon and evening in aid the secondary department's qu-jen <No. 4). The following were the stallholders:—Cake, Mesdames J. O'Neill and H. Smith: odds and ends, Kathleen and bttly O'Neill; work stall, Mesdames J. Maugher and J. Craw; sweets, Mesdames A. L. J. Shand, H. M. Stevens, and Hoskins; flowers ana vegetables. Mr and Mrs C. G. Burgess: produce, boys of the secondary department; shilling stall. Valeric ana I Bernicc Gale; afternoon tea, Miss G. Suckiing, Mrs Wood, and the girls of j | the secondary department; side shows, i Messrs E. O'Neill, H. Smith, and J.' Wing; soft drinks, Messrs A. F. Partridge arid Parry. ! i j !
