BLENHEIM NEWS The annual banks and law dance was held at the Masonic Hall, which was effectively decorated with green foliage, coloured lights, and balloons. CHERRY BLOSSOM FAIR WOOLSTON METHODIST GUILD A .successful "cherry blossom" fair was held in the schoolroom of the Woolston Methodist Church, and for two days the well-stocked stalls, decorated with cherry blossom, were well patronised. Members of the Ladies' Guild of the church had organised the fair to augment the church trust funds. A former foundation member of the guild, Mrs E. H. Martin, opened the fair and also judged the competitions. On the first evening a play, "Amelia to the Rescue," was presented by the young people of the church, and the play, "World Without Men," was presented by guild members on the second evening. Both plays were much appreciated. Stallholders were:—Work stall, Mesdames Makin and S. McHarg; shilling stall, Mesdames Trerise and Anderson; flowers, Mesdames Smith and Falkingham; cakes, Mesdames H. Newton and D. McHarg; variety, Mesdamea Hall, Findlay, arid Ramsay; fancy work, Mrs Brooks and Miss R. Makin; sweets, Mrs Wearne and Sunday school teachers; produce, Junior Young Men's Bible Class; refreshments, Mesdames Thompson, Argue, and Turner. Results of the competitions were as follows: Fruit cake, Mrs Brooks 1, Mrs S. McHarg 2, Mrs D.- McHarg 8; Madeira cake, Mrs Laurence 1, Mrs D. McHarg 2, Mrs Makin 3; sponge sandwich, Mrs Trerise 1, Mrs D. McHarg 2; queen cakes, Mrs Mauger 1, Mrs Makin 2, Mrs Trerise 3; shortbread, Mrs Thompson 1, Mrs Laurence 2, Mrs Makin 3; toffee, Mrs Makin 1, Mrs D. McHarg 2; coconut ice, Mrs King 1, Mrs D. McHarg 2; Turkish delight, Mrs Makin 1, Mrs S. McHarg 2; bowl of narcissi, Miss R. Makin 1, Mrs Brooks 2, Mrs bowl of mixed spring flowers, Mrs Brooks 1, Mrs D.
