The Italian Government has instructed its Ambassador in Moscow (Signor Augusto *Rosso) to demand the release of Luigi Patroni. a naval engineer, who was arrested near Leningrad last week and charged with espionage. . His position is considered favourable, as 30 Russian engineers studying with the same shipbuilding firm at Leghorn could be held as hostages if reprisals are considered necessary.
