SHIRLEY CLUB MEETS ELECTION OF OFFICERS A credit balance of £lB 10s lid was disclosed at the annual general meeting of the Shirley Cricket Club. Mr J. B. Johns presided, the attendance being 24. The report stated that although none of the club's teams had been successful in winning a competition, some good performances had been registered, including a fine knock of 171 not out by G. Cullen, this being a record for the club. Two resignations were accepted and seven new members elected. Officers were elected as follows: — Patron Mr J. B. Johns; president, Mr F. H. Walls; vice-presidents, Messrs P. E. Clark, C. Brain, E. King, G. Brittenden, R. Colthart, R. Booker, W. Aitken, E. Hitchcock, H. Davies; club captain, M.r I. 'Fraser; Vionorary secretary Mr G. S. Martin; honorary treasurer, Mr S. A. Wentworth; committee, Messrs W. Bampton, H. Aris, V. Wentworth. N. Priest, E. Grenfell; selectors, Messrs W. Bampton and E. Grenfell; association delegates, Messrs Bampton, Fraser, and S. Wentworth; sports protection delegate. Mr C. Truman; auditor, Mr J. B. Johns.
