CHRISTCHURCH ORPHEUS CHOIR
CONCERT ON WEDNESDAY On Wednesday evening, a concert will be given by the Christchurch Orpheus Choir in the Radiant Hall. This choir was founded in 1936 to compete in choir competitions and to give assistance to charitable objects, and the concert of September 15 is being given in aid of the building fund of the Karitane Hospital. Although the choir is young, and, perhaps, not so well known as other city choirs, it has proved its ability over the air and on the concert platform. The programme to be presented is attractive and will give enjoyment as well as support to a worthy cause. The vocal soloists, all of whom are members of the choir, are as follows: Miss Lilian Hanham, Miss Edna Henderson, Mrs M. Nelson, Messrs R. Allison, J. H. Cocks, and E. Rogers. Mr Noel Newson, the official accompanist, will play "Andante." "Rondo Caprecioso," and "Scherzo" in C sharp minor. ■ ' CALEDONIAN SOCIETY + COMPETITION RESULTS The results of the Canterbury Caledonian Society's competitions last evening were:— Swords (1937 pupils): Helen Hill 1, George Cameron 2.
