DRAMA LEAGUE FESTIVAL
NORTH ISLAND WINNERS ANNOUNCED (FRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGKAM.) HAWERA, September 10. "The Three Hundredth Performance," presented by the Napier Repertory Players, and "A Privy Council," by the Palmerston North Little Theatre Society, were the two plays selected by the Drama League adjudicator (Misa Elizabeth Loe) from the North Island elimination festival, which concluded at Hawera last night, to compete with the South Island finalist at Rotorua for the New Zealand championship in amateur dramatic art. Eight other teams presented plays which won their respective area festivals. They were the Avon Players (Rotorua), Hawera Apollo Players (South Taranaki), Repertory Society (Wanganui). Stratford Players (Central Tara--naki), Phcenix Drama Club (Wairarapa). Guild of Players (Auckland). Hamilton Playbox (Waikato), and All Saints Players (Wellington).
