THE SPANISH QUESTION
TO TBI EDITOa 0» TH» FBXBX Sir,—ln the height of a controversy that was raging in "The Press some months ago, one of your correspondents, Umberto Colonna, I think, made mention of a certain Spanish priest, Father Garcia Morales (I hope my memory for names serves me right here). Father Cooney attacked your correspondent about this man, whereupon your correspondent proposed to write to Spain and 'obtain definite information in order to vindicate the character of his hero. Now, many months have elapsed since that proposal was put forwardtime almost for a letter tp go around the world twice. Along with others I should like to ask if that information has yet come to hand. Perhaps it has and your correspondent is not anxious, out of Christian charity, to play his trump card and inflict a crushing blow on Father Cooney. Even so, would it not be in the interests of many readers, who followed the controversy, to see the reply in your columns?— Yours, j CtC " INTERESTED, i Ashburton, September 10, 1937.
