♦ ASSESSORS REACH DEADLOCK mtUS ASSOCIATION TELIOBAIi.I WELLINGTON, June 4. The Dominion hotel and restaurant workers’ dispute, which was continued in Conciliation Council, was adjourned after a deadlock had been reached on
the question of wages and the number of days to be worked in a week. The employees’ assessors claimed that a five-day week would not only benefit the workers but was also in the employers’ interest, as only a fixed number of hours could be worked without overtime. ..The employers* assessors replied that the shorter period would cause difficulty in many establishments.
