RICCARTON LICENSING COMMITTEE
APPLICATIONS GRANTED Pleasure at the conduct of the hotels in the district was expressed by the chairman. Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M. at the annual meeting of the Ricca/ton Licensing Committee in the Paparua County Council Chambers. Sockburn, yesterday. Members of the committee present were: —Messrs E. C. Levvey. S.M. (chairman), A. F. Fisher, A. E Steere. J. Leslie. C. G. McKellar. and W. F. Parkinson. Applications granted were:— Transfers of license —Alexander Caldwell McClea to Harold Archibald Stevens, Junction Hotel Halswell; Edward James Burgess to Alexander Caldwell McClea. Springston Hotel, Springston. New publicans’ licenses—Harold Archibald Stevens, Junction Hotel, Halswell; Alexander Caldwell McClea, SnHngston Hotel. Springston. Renewals of licenses—William Hopley, Lincoln Hotel, Lincoln; Annie Smith. Prebbleton Hotel. Prebbleton; Lily Gertrude Dawson. Lake Forsyth Hotel. Little River: Edward Alexander Rattray Bush Inn Riccarton: Annie Isabell Lawrence Hancock. Riccarton Hotel Riccarton: John Harry MacKenzie, Ellesmere Arms Hotel. Tai Tanu; Henry Marshall. Racecourse Hotel. Upner Riccarton: Thomas Quirk. Black Horse Hotel. Lincoln road; Frederick Thomas Buchanan, Rolleston Hotel, Rolleston. An application made by Frederick Thomas Buchanan, of the Rolleston Hotel, for waiver was granted. Permission to extinguish front lights at 6 n.m. was granted for the following hotels:—Bush Inn. Black Horse, and Riccarton. Police and health reports on all hotels were satisfactory.
