SPORTS FIXTURES FOR TO-DAY
REPRESENTATIVE HOCKEY MATCH Attractive programmes in all codes of sport have been arranged for today. A representative hockey match. Canterbury v. Southland, will be played at Hagley Park, No. 8, beginning at 3 p.m. The first open event of the cross-country season will be held at Riccarton racecourse at 3 p.m. The Rugby football match at Lancaster Park oval will be between Sydenham and University, beginning at 2.45 p.m. Other games will be played as follows: Albion v. Christchurch, Lancaster Park South, 2.30 p.m.; Sunnyside v. Technical Old Boys, Sunnyside, 2.30 p.m.; Linwood v. High School Old Boys, Show Grounds, 2.30 p.m.; Athletic v. Merivaie, Rugby Park. 2.45 p.m. Rugby League fixtures are: Sydenham v. Hornby, at Sydenham; Linwood v. Waimairi, at Linwood. The draw for the senior Association football competition is as follows: Western v. Y.M.C.A., at English Park, 1.30 p.m.; Thistle v. Ncmads. at English Park, 3 p.m.; Technical v. Rangers, at Ensor’s road, No. 1, 3 p.m. The draw for the women’s hockey competitions is as follows: Aranui v. Kiwi, Hagley Park, No. 4, 1,30 p.m.; Digby’s v. West Christchurch, Hagley Park, No. 5, 1.30 p.m.; Hornby v. Technical, Hornby, 3 p.m.; Pukaki v. Rangiora, Hagley Park, No. 5, 3 p.m. The competitions of the Canterbury Basketball Association will be coni tinued at the basketball courts at South Hagley Park.
