FORM OF SERVICE AT CORONATION
PROTEST BY MODERATOR OF FREE CHURCH ANGLICAN EXCLUSIVENESS ALLEGED ' (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.) (Received June 2, 8.25 p.m.) LONDON, June 1. A protest against the Anglican treatment of the Coronation ceremony was expressed by the Rev. S. W. Wilson, Moderator of the General Assembly of the United Free Church of Scotland, in Glasgow. He said: “It is not bpiritual pride but generations of plain Scottish worshipping which make us feel that the Coronation ceremonies are incorporated into the communion service of the Anglican Church for the express purpose, it would almost , seem, of warning off trespassing churches. “The ceremony would have been no less impressive if it 'had concluded with the communion service of Presbyterians or Free Churches. Does the heart not throb at the thought of a vast assembly of plenipotentiaries and also potential enemies being offered bread and wine in the name of Lord Jesus, instead of the King and Queen alone? “The time taken over the sword and spurs might have been occupied by the rites more pregnant with Christian meaning,” he added.
