VALUELESS CHEQUES

A YEAR’S IMPRISONMENT (press association telboram.) WELLINGTON, June 2. A sentence of six months’ imprisonment with hard labour on each of five, charges, two of the sentences to be cumulative, was imposed by Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., on George Crompton Mansfield, aged 43, a labourer, for obtaining money and goods by valueless cheques. He was described as a particularly bad offender in cases of this sort.
