OBSERVANCE OF KING’S BIRTHDAY
JUNE 9 CHOSEN BY COALMINES (FBESB ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) GREYMOUTH, June 2. The King’s Birthday will be observed by all coal mines on June 9 instead of December 14, according to Mr A. McLagan, secretary of the United Mine Workers’ Union. Mr McLagan also stated that the West Coast and Waikato companies paid a full day’s wages for Coronation Day, but no advice had been received about the Southland district.
