EMPIRE AIR MAILS
New Scheme Announced
Imperial Airways has outlined a scheme for Empire air mails covering a period of 15 years. Provision is made for nine services weekly to and from Egypt, five to and from India, three each to and from East Africa and the Straits Settlements, and two each to and from South Africa and Australia. Both flying boats and land aeroplane service* will operate from England. Kates for air mails will be the cheapest in the world. The air mail service between Australia and London will begin in January, 1938. It will provide. for an initial schedule of 10 days, with a progressive reduction to seven days.
