PRESENTATION FROM BURWOOD parishioners The esteem’ and regret in which the Rev. C. A. Tobin, retiring vicar of All Saints’ Church, Burwood, was held were demonstrated by the large number of parishioners and residents who attended a social given him in tne Parish 5 Hall last evening. . C Garland, Mr Tobin’s daughter, was also presented by the parishioners with a gold wristlet watch and work basket, as an expression of the esteem in which she is held by the parishioners,* and for her keen interest in the various activities of the Ch Mr Cl J. Liggins presided. Dean Julius, representing Bishop westWatson, and Mrs Julius, and the Venerable Archdeacon A, C. Rowse, for the Burwood Memorial Committee and Burwood School Committee, endorsed the remarks of the other speakers. / Mr Tobin, in acknowledging the gifts, said that though he was now more than 80 years of age, he felt much younger. Mr Liggins also spoke of the work done by Mrs Garland in the Sunday SC Mrs Garland suitably replied, and also thanked Mr Liggins for his remarks about her mother, the late Mrs Tobin. 1
