BAN ON EXPORT OF WHITE PINE
CONFERENCE OF SAWMILLING INTERESTS The situation brought about by the Government's prohibition on the export of white pine or kahikatea timber was considered yesterday, by a conference of West Coast sawmilling interests, which met in Christcnurch. Interviewed by a representative of "The Press" at the conclusion of the conference, the secretary of the West Coast Sawmillers' Association, Mr J. W. Callwell. declined to make any statement beyond the intimation that a delegation from the meeting was to leave immediately for Wellington. ,—. .
