NEW ZEALAND CORPS OF COMMISSIONAIRES

♦ A meeting of the Board of Governors of the Canterbury division of the New Zealand Corps of Commissionaires was held last evening. Mr P. R. Climie presided. After formal business, the secretary (Mr C. E. Wilkins) presented a report on the activities of commissionaires during the last two months. Another commissionaire had been placed in full-time employment and there were prospects of placing others soon. Requests for men for casual work had created a record and at times there was difficulty in coping with the demand. It was decided to put several more men into uniform at once.
