FORMER PREMIER OF VICTORIA
♦ -,.. RT. HON. W. A. WATT VISITING NEW ZEALAND (PBESB ASSOCIATION TZLEQEAM.) AUCKLAND, May 3. Acting-Prime Minister of Australia at the end of the Great War, and formerly Premier of Victoria, the Rt. Hon. W. A. Watt, P.C„ arrived from Sydney by the Monterey on a short business visit to the Dominion. Mr Watt, who was created a Privy Councillor in 1920, occupied several Ministerial posts in. the Victorian Government, and then entered the House of Representatives in 1914. He was Minister for Works and Railways, Treasurer, and flnsJly Minister for Trade and Customs. From 1923 to 192b he was Speaker of the House of Representatives.
