LOAN FOR TRAMWAY WORK
♦ —— APPROVAL GIVEN BY BOARD Formal confirmation was given by the Christchurch Tramway Board on Saturday to a previous decision to borrow £20,000 at 3i per cent, for 13 years. To meet the interest and sinking fund a rate of ,0133536 d will be levied. The loan is for permanent way renewal work in Linwood, Riccarton, and the Square, for the renewing of overhead feeder cables, and for new buses.
