Slippery Sam. The last-named moved forward three furlongs from home, and halfway down the straight he commenced a hard battle with Waikato Prince. In a hard finish he won by a neck, while two lengths away came Agility, who was Just in front of Lucess, with the rest strung slippery Sam has plenty of speed In private but has not always shown it with the colours up. He may do still better. A Lucky Win . Golden Moness' won the Kekerangu Hanricap after a hard fight from Stylish Boy, but she may have been lucky as the Jatter’s driver appeared to mistake the winning post and stopped driving before It was passed. , Andy Audubon, Storm Signal, Streamline, and Queen's Up were quickest to begin, and, with Stylish Boy following, they led past the Judge’s box the first time. Stylish Boy moved up half a -mile from home and In the straight he and Golden Moness drew out. A hundred yards from the post Stylish Boy was a head In front, but Golden Moness wore him down to win by the narrowest margin. Storm Signal was In third place, just ahead of the two-year-old Francisco. Worthy Need Wins Worthy Need registered a good performance to win the Visitors’ Handicap after Canadian Prince had made most of the running. Canadian Prince and Cassidy were first away from Golden Moness, and with All Kings following they led until half the distance had been covered, when Worthy Need made a forward move and Sunny Jack and Envious Joined issue. In the straight Worthy Need shot to the front and easily held off All Kings, who made a good fight. The winner is a good type of gelding by Frank Worthy from Necessity, and will improve with racing. Sunny Jack went a good race but he struck himself during the running and this must have affected his chances. Golden Moness, having her third race, was apparently feeling the effects of her earlier efforts. . The Favourite Wins Sky Wink was favourite fop the Conway Handicap, and, after waiting on the leaders, Agility and Epilogue, he tackled the former in the straight land won nicely, while in a hard battle for second place Agility and Epilogue finished on terms, with Decoy Bird and Buddy next. Sky Wink gave a nice display and was better class than the remainder. Guy Forrest Improves The Keenan Handicap, of two miles, for unhoppled trotters, attracted , a field of five, but the exhibition was poor, Guy Forrest, who broke several times, winning from Kereta, who conceded 108 yards start. * Fluke again refused to settle down, and Joe Carbine led out from Guy Forrest and Kereta. Joe Carbine became very tired at the end of a mile and a half and left Guy Forrest with a long lead. He trotted steadily when out in front and was never seriously troubled. Kereta, obviously tired, struggled on to head Joe Carbine, who broke in the last hundred yards. A Mile in Saddle Little Derby was made one of the warmest favourites of the day for the Railway Handicap, but while he had every chance he was decisively beaten by the speedy Major Guy. Major Guy was quickest to begin, ana he led in the early stages from All Kings and Cassidy With a round to go, Major Guy was showing the way to Little Derby, All Kings and Envious, while Hermes and Cassidy were also nicely placed. Two furlongs from home the race was confined to Major Guy and Little Derby, and while the latter fought on gamely, he had no chance with the other pacer, who won comfortably by half a length. Buddy Just scrambled home in third place ahead of All Kings Major Guy was nicely handled by the New Brighton horseman, H. Marshall, and always appeared to have something in reserve.

LITTLE AUDREY GIVES ADVICE , ♦ SAYS “IGNORANCE ISN’T BLISS’,* “Oh, Audrey!" Phil wailed, "I’m sure Jack will propose to-night and I can’t possibly let him. My hands are so red and cracked after doing the washing this morning." But little Audrey just laughed and laughed because she knew that there was nothing like Q-TOL* lor removing all traces of that humiliating redness and roughness from work-worn hands. Your hands, too, need the daily protection of Q-TOL, Safe, soothing and healing. Q-TOL restores smoothness and whiteness like magic. Ask for Q-TOL by name. Obtainable everywhere. —S
