Church is interpreted to mean a renewal of the campaign against the Church. „ Inflammatory headlines, for example, one in the "Volkischer Beobachter," "Churches and Monasteries Debased to Haunts of Depravity," introduce stories announcing that more than 1000 priests or members of Roman Catholic orders are in prison awaiting trial on charges of immorality. _ . , The newspapers add: "It is not a question of individual cases, but of the whole system which is corrupt."
