KING'S MESSAGE TO FRANCE
"COMMON DESIRE FOR PEACE"
(BBITISH OFFICIAL WIEKLESS.) RUGBY, April 29. When Sir Eric Phipps, new British Ambassador in Paris, presented his credentials to the President, M. Lebrun, yesterday, he delivered a message' of cordial goodwill from King George VI to France. The Ambassador spoke of a common desire for-peace in France.and Britain, and declared that close union of the two countries was more than essential to consolidation for peace. M. Lebrun warmly reciprocated these sentiments, and expressed personal pleasure at the return to France "as Ambassador of a diplomat so well known and : affectionately regarded there, -
