AMBERLEY SCHOOL
The annual meeting of householders at Amberley was held, with Mr J. D. Boyce presiding. The chairman read the annual report, which dealt with the work done during the year. The balance-sheet showed that receipts were £7B 10s and expenditure £62 14s 4d.
The report and balance-sheet were adopted. „ .. With the sixtieth anniversary of the school approaching, a number of old scholars attended who were interested in the school jubilee. A resolution was carried that a public meeting be called for Monday evening to make preliminary arrangements and set up various committees to organise the jubilee. The monthly* meeting of the Amberley School Committee was held recently, with Mr J. D. Boyce chairman, presiding. The master's report was received, showing the roll number to be 110, with an average of 101 for the term. It was decided to have further seats erected in the • playground, and have the trees cut back and fences trimmed and a plot dug for a garden. The Government scheme of the milk supply to the school children was discussed, and it was decided to submit the circular to the two milkmen in the district for a price a gallon delivered at the school.
